The Personal Styles Inventory
The Personal Styles Inventory (PSI) is a tool to explore and explain the personality of healthy persons.
About the PSI
The PSI helps you understand your personality - the way you relate to other people and to the world around you. Your provider will help you interpret your PSI and explain its description of your personality.
Inner vs Outer Personality
Often, the personality we display to others (for example, in our jobs) is different from the basic personality that comes naturally to us. The difference between our "outer" and "inner" personalities can be a source of tension in our lives. The PSI will help you understand both your inner and your outer personality, and how they affect your life.
Personality Domains
The PSI measures your overall personality, but it also looks at your personality in specific areas of your life. The PSI looks at three specific areas (or "domains") of your personality: your feelings, how you do things and how you think. For example, you might be very focused and detail-oriented on some tasks ("doing things",) yet be outgoing and flexible when you are socializing ("feelings".) The PSI will show that you can show different, seemingly contradictory, styles of personality in different aspects of your life.
